Du siècle d’or de la peinture hollandaise à Manet chez Laurence Aëgerter, du rapport au sacré dans les œuvres d’AurelK, des anciennes plaques de verre négatives d’Anaïs Boudot au mouvement de la chronophotographie chez Thibault Brunet, d’Hokusai à van Gogh chez Lisa Sartorio, tous créent des ponts entre classicisme et modernisme des formes et enjeux de l’art contemporain.

With neither entrance nor exit, the artworks construct looping interior spaces. These variations on a single theme also engage in a dialogue through their relationship to the history of art and photography. From the Dutch Golden Age of painting to Manet in Laurence Aëgerter’s work, from the relationship to the holy in AurelK’s pieces, from Anaïs Boudot’s antique glass negatives to the movement of chronophotography in Thibault Brunet’s work, and from Hokusai to van Gogh in Lisa Sartorio’s practice, all create bridges between classicism and modernism of forms and the concerns of contemporary art.
